For the last two years, our country has been in a state of mass hysteria. Whether it was the issue of Black Lives Matter, Coronavirus, or now the invasion of Ukraine, every single issue has been talked about in apocalyptic terms and with gargantuan fear propaganda tactics. No longer are we allowed to have thoughtful discussions about what must be done during any given situation, we must now speak only in terms of othering the opposing side and stoking terror in the populous. With Black Lives Matter and George Floyd, you were a horrible racist if you looked at the facts of the situation and didn't bend over backwards for the rioters and looters. With Covid, if you even questioned vaccine or mask efficacy you were somehow responsible for killing every grandma in America. Now with Ukraine, if you have your doubts about the truth of this conflict and the interests of those involved you are a “shill for Putin” and “unpatriotic.”
Very well written, so many solid points. It’s crazy to me to see how the media is all in on supporting Ukraine without realizing that they’re not perfect either. Any time I see such a huge push in support of any of these causes it makes me hesitant to believe we know the whole story (which I know we rarely do). Everything that has been happening over the last two years has been easily predictable and even now the current events are going to play right in to their climate change hysteria and push us closer to socialism. I completely agree with you. America and our God-given freedom first. But we must faithfully pray for the innocent civilians in both Ukraine and Russia. This is not their fault, and I pray for God's Hand of protection on them all.

What pains me is to see that so many people on the right fall for the simplistic "bad Russia" narrative. Not mentioning the expansion of NATO in the east since the fall of the Soviet Union (which is not contemporary Russia), the CIA coup d'état in 2014, or the 13,000 deaths caused since that date by the Kiev government out of hate for Russian-speaking Ukrainians, prevents people from having a balanced view of the situation. What is even more mind-blogging is to see the left and some portion of the right in the US and the EU having no issue at all with supporting REAL neo-Nazi Ukrainians, while at the same time calling all those who oppose Covid mandates "Nazis".
The Ukraine-Russia conflict proved that COVID-19 wasn’t as big as it was. Yes people died of it, but it had 99% survival rate among most people. COVID-19 somehow disappeared right when Russia invaded Ukraine.
Excellent article, Will. I’m exhausted by the mental gymnastics we are asked to perform to rationalize their behavior. It makes no sense without deep corruption and an evil agenda beyond my understanding. I keep praying that God would shed light in the darkness and expose the lies, and He is answering that prayer big time! And yet the mass hysteria and moral outrage that the media creates continues unabated. It’s incredibly frustrating that they think they can play with our very lives.
Man, exactly how I feel. It’s tough kinda knowing where we are headed. Conversations with people are still all messed up and certain people insist on being blind. It’s like as long as they got the shot, life is perfect for them and no problems or worries will exist because they got their life back and will travel to suppress everything. There is no care for knowledge on any of these topics you brought up or concern for anything going on around world and the road we are definitely going down. How long before they realize the truth… it will be too late. I am in complete agreement with how you said everything.

I live in Italy and we have been suffering US acts over Russia since the cold-war: the 70,s and 80's: years of terrorism, kidnapping and killings. Now it looks like we are back 60 years: cannot believe it is real. Italy and southern European countries in general have no way-out to absorb input prices and energy prices soaring: this could kick off a crisis that has no chance out to be recovered,
